Eldoret – The former lover of the late athlete of Uganda Rebecca Cheptegei, Dickson Ndiema, has passed away.
Ndiema died on Monday, September 9, at night at the Eldoret, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), where he was receiving treatment.
Ndiema was admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) after being rushed to the medical center following an argument that led him to pour petrol on Cheptegei before setting him on fire.
He died as a result of the injuries he suffered as a result of the incident that caused him to suffer burns up to 30 percent of his body.
Ndiema attacked Cheptegei at their home Trans Nzoiawhere he poured petrol on him and set him on fire which also injured him.
Cheptegei, who competed in the Paris 2024 Olympics, suffered more than 80 percent burns and later died while receiving treatment.
