Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that he is not worried about opposition leader Raila Odinga joining the Kenya Kwanza government.
What Gachagua said about Raila joining the government
Speaking at the funeral of the former Executive Director of NACADA Victor Okioma in the County Trans NzoiaGachagua dismissed concerns that Raila's collaboration with Ruto will affect his position in government.
“I am old iron. I am in the government. Didn't I fight for this government? There is no way I can move even an inch,” Gachagua insisted.
He reiterated that including new people in the government Kenya First you can't get rid of those who are already there.
He confirmed his support for the involvement of Raila in the government, explaining that it has contributed to uniting the country.
“We have welcomed those whom the president has brought to the government so that we can start working together,” he said.
The deputy president reiterated that any plans to expel him from the government will fail, as he is still strong.
This followed the remarks of the leader of the DAP-Kenya party Eugene Wamalwawho appeared to warn Gachagua about ODM members who recently joined the government after leaving the opposition.
“Mr. Rigathi, we have been left in the dark by those who left. They can do the same to you,” The Malwa said.
Gachagua asked ODM members not to oppose him
In a separate incident, Gachagua issued a new order to members of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) led by Raila who joined the government.
He told ODM party members to support what he said going forward as they are currently working with the government.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the party having members in the government, as it helps unite the people.
He also welcomed them to the government while insisting that they should now work together to develop the country.
