Pain: The death toll from the fire at Hillside Endarasha Academy has increased after another student died from the tragedy.

The number of students who died earlier was 17, but now it has increased to 18 due to recent developments.
According to Citizen TV report, the number of injured has also increased to 27, from 14 previously reported. The injured were taken to various hospitals for treatment.
The report also notes that there may be additional deaths, as bodies may still be trapped in the dormitory that housed 156 students.
Speaking to the media on Friday, September 5, the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua he said about 70 students are still missing.
He also announced relief for 86 families who were able to find their children after the tragic event.
The government asked the parents to send the students back to Endarasha
To ensure that all students are accounted for, the Secretary General of Basic Education Belio Kipsang asked parents to return the students for accounting before sending them home.
In his request to parents, the Minister of Internal Affairs Kithur Kindiki he said the students needed to be returned for the purpose of equipment and advice.
The government also asked those who may have taken students following the fire to return them to the school.
This announcement has come after it was found that some parents and guardians took it upon themselves to take their children without checking the authorities and service providers in the disaster area.
