Butaleja district is celebrating the birth of four children by 16-year-old student Mwajuma Nankya.

The young mother gave birth to her four children on Sunday, September 1, at Busolwe Hospital.

New Vision reports that the mother sand he was transferred to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital for further medical attention.

A happy Nankya, brimming with pride, recounted her journey to motherhood.

She explained that after experiencing labor pain, she first visited a neighboring clinic, which took her to Busolwe hospital for delivery.

“During the antenatal visits, they told me I was carrying twins, but to my surprise, when the time came, there were four children,” Nankya said.

Nankya, who was in second form when she became pregnant, expressed her desire to return to school.

However, he acknowledged the challenges, citing his poor background and the difficult environment of the children's father.

According to him, the children's father had dropped out of school after completing primary education.

The head of the children's ward at the Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, Dr. Abeso, confirmed that all four children are healthy and doing well.

However, she expressed concern about the challenges that Nankya may face once she is discharged, especially about breastfeeding all four children.

“It is important for her health that she does not get pregnant quickly, as she needs time for her bones to grow fully,” Dr. Abeso added.
