Mufti thanks President Samia, the media for the Quran competition – HabariMpya

Dar es Salaam. A few days after the Quran competition for women of the world was held in Dar es Salaam, the Mufti of Tanzania, Sheikh Abubakar Zubeir expressed his gratitude to all those who made the competition successful.

Mufti Zubeir also thanked the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan for agreeing to be the official guest and patron of the competition.

At the same time, he has thanked the media, including Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL)'s Mwananchi and The Citizen newspapers for making the competition, which was held for the first time in Tanzania, a success.

The Mufti has noted this today, Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at the King Mohammed VI Mosque, located in Kinondoni District, Dar es Salaam.

Mufti Zubeir has said that the participation of the media has made the competition a great success.

He said, their expectations for next year's competition will be greater considering that this year's has brought awareness to women who have been forgotten in one way or another.

“Right now there is an erosion of morals and the main targets are young people and girls and if you look at the Quran it teaches morals, respect, compassion and good actions as well as refraining from inappropriate actions.

“Right now there is injustice, it is associated with many bad things, the holy book teaches justice, now the importance of this competition for them is that when they leave there, they have learned good values ​​and everyone will go to change themselves,” he said.

The competition held on August 31, 2024 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, where a participant from Algeria emerged as the winner among all competitors from 11 countries, with the aim of showing the role of women in society.

In the competition, Tanzania is fortunate to be the first host country and in his speech, President Samia emphasized the importance of justice, peace, mutual respect and tolerance as pillars to strengthen unity as a nation.

He said the competition contributes to strengthening national values ​​and maintaining unity among Tanzanians regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

President Samia also touched on the importance of developing the values ​​of the country, noting that a family with strong foundations is the foundation of a strong nation.

At the same time, he encouraged parents and guardians to ensure that children are brought up in an environment of respect, peace and love in order to build a society with good values.

The General Secretary of the Central Muslim Council of Tanzania (Bakwata), Nuhu Mruma has named the 11 participating countries as Tanzania (Mainland and Zanzibar), Mozambique, Sudan, Algeria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Indonesia, the United States, Germany and Russia.

The holding of the competition, he said, aimed to show the role of women in Islam and has created a better environment for the group that ensures safety, peace and justice.
