The Meru family that organized the ceremony to bless the parents has spoken in pain after 12 of those who attended the ceremony perished in a tragic accident at the Nithi bridge.
Eight women, two men and two children died suddenly on the night of Saturday, August 31, after the car that was returning them Nairobi involved in an accident that killed all those inside.
Speaking to Nation, one of the family members who celebrated the ceremony was in pain as they struggled to understand that the tragedy happened shortly after they had enjoyed it.
Speaking on behalf of Kathira who had invited her friends, Pamela Mukaba said their celebration was good as they sang, ate and danced together.
“After the incident, we prayed together for the mercy of the journey. They boarded three vehicles: two tricycles with 14 seats and a private car,” he narrated.
However, a few hours after they left, they got the bad news that one of the three had met with a serious accident.
