How did the fire break out in Union III?
The fire, which is reported to have been caused by a candle lit in the house, broke out while their mother was leaving the children alone.
Speaking to Mwananchi Digital, the police said the fire quickly spread to nearby houses and left more than 30 families without a place to stay.
The Nairobi fire brigade managed to put out the fire with the help of local residents, but to luck unfortunately the two children did not survive.
The bodies of the children were recovered from their homes and sent to the morgue for an autopsy.
