Hasmukh Patel: Benefactor and Owner of Mombasa Cement Ltd Passes Away

Tycoon Hasmukh Patel was confirmed dead on Thursday, August 29.

What killed the owner of Mombasa Cement?

Affectionately known as “Hasu”, the 58-year-old died at the hospital Mombasa which was not named.

Family spokesperson Samir Bhalo alias Sayani confirmed that Patel was suffering from stomach problems two days before his death today.

Patel is the founder of Mombasa Cement Ltd.

He is survived by his widow and three children.

How leaders mourned Hasmukh Patel

Leaders praised the businessman as a philanthropist who positively influenced his life and his charitable works.

He also fed the needy and gave them clean water.

“Many people from underprivileged backgrounds benefited from his generosity in many areas ranging from health services to educational support. Indeed, Mr. Patel's legacy will continue to inspire generations to come, and his contributions to society will always be remembered with gratitude,” tweeted Mining and Blue Economy Minister Hassan Joho.

“Patel will be remembered for his great participation in community affairs here in Mombasa as well as his great support for the less fortunate. I take this opportunity on behalf of the Mombasa county government to offer our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We will stand with you in this difficult time,” Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Nassir said.

“May God give strength to his family and all the partners of Mombasa cement in this difficult time. May he rest in eternal peace,” lamented the former governor of Nairobi Mike Sonko.
