Why Salim Swaleh decided to publicly apologize to Mudavadi

In a video that TUKO.co.ke saw, Swaleh said he recorded his apology on camera after his attempts to reach Mudavadi hit a rock.

“Good morning Sir, I hope this video will find you healthy. I said to record this video because I have tried to look for you for several weeks now without finding you. I have sent several people to you, to talk to you but I have not been getting any answers,” Swaleh said.

In the emotional video, Swaleh admitted to breaking Mudavadi's trust, which he said they had built up over the years.

While expressing his deep regret for betraying trust, Swaleh admitted that Mudavadi has been a father to him since they met.

“We built an unparalleled trust between us. And for the past year and a half I served you with boundless zeal. I broke trust. I made a mistake. And I am very sorry for that. I am very sorry about it,” he said, looking overwhelmed with emotion.

With tears in his eyes, the former Citizen TV journalist revealed that the past month has been very difficult for him.

He revealed that he has not been able to go out because of the way he is being harassed by people and fraud allegations against him.

Swaleh admitted to being faced with thoughts of wanting to kill himself due to the difficult financial situation he is currently facing.

The former journalist said he lost everything suddenly and now he is facing financial problems, with bills and loans to pay.

“A lot of things have been going through my mind, very bad things. Sometimes I feel like taking my own life. Bills are piling up, salaries have been stopped suddenly, I have loans. Please find it in your heart to forgive me. Please have mercy on me,” he added as he wiped away his tears.
