Faith Kipyegon To Fight Gudaf Tsegay Again At Athlos NYC Tournament

Faith Kipyegon is set to face Gudaf Tsegay when the two meet at the Athlos NYC event at Icahn Stadium in New York next month.

Kipyegon and Tsegay were one of the main stories in the race for the 2024 Paris Olympics after their fierce clash in the women's 5000m final.

Tsegay would later appeal against Kipyegon, which witnessed the star of Kenya temporarily losing his silver medal. After the Kenyan team appealed, he was reinstated to second place.

Tsegay apologized to Kipyegon

Kipyegon later revealed that the Ethiopian kneeled before him and begged for forgiveness.

“After being invited to the 1500m race the next day, Tsegay came and knelt down to me and told me that he was very sorry, that it was not my fault but his, 'please forgive me' I only forgave him knowing that it was sports and we would meet again another time and we need each other to compete, “ he said on Citizen TV's JKL.

Kipyegon vs Tsegay meet again

The two are scheduled to compete at the Athlos NYC event, which is the brainchild of Reddit co-founder and Serena Williams' husband, Alexis Ohanian.

The two will participate in the 1500 meter race, which is Kipyegon's favorite.

In France, Kipyegon confirmed his position as the greatest 1500m runner of all time after winning his third consecutive Olympic title.
