India – A 31-year-old woman has been allegedly killed by her husband and in-laws at their residence in the village of Jaganpur, Greater Noida.
According to her family, Nidhi was abused for dowry by her husband, Deepak Badhana, and her parents before her alleged murder on Saturday, August 24.
Why was Nidhi killed?
Her father, Chaudhary Harveer Singh, informed the police that Nidhi had been subjected to ongoing dowry abuse and had left her in-laws' home several times but returned each time due to attempts at reconciliation, as Hindustantimes reported.
“When officers from Dankaur police station reached the scene, they found Nidhi lying in a pool of blood at her matrimonial home. She was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Nidhi had one bullet wound on her neck, ” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Greater Noida) Ashok Kumar said.

Badhana, who ran a business in the village, and four other members of his family are missing.
The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities continue to search for the suspects who have not yet been identified.
The couple got married in 2020 and had two children, a two-year-old and a baby sand of six months, who were present at home at the time of the incident, Indian Express it added.
