President William Ruto he announced new appointments to his government, and brought some of his friends closer who had previously been excluded.
In a statement that TUKO.co.ke saw on Friday, August 23, Ruto appointed renowned digital strategist Dennis Itumbi as head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President.
The President said his recent appointment will help in implementing the government's broad objectives.
“This will strengthen the implementation of the BETA Program by the wider government, the head of state and the state,” part of the statement said.
How did Itumbi react to his new job?
Itumbi used social media to thank the president for the new position and for continuing to give him opportunities to serve him and the country.
“Thank you President William Samoei Ruto for giving me the opportunity to continue serving,” he said.
He has also thanked those who have wished him well in his new role and those who have criticized him.
Itumbi also promised to take into consideration the ideas presented by Kenyans.
“I listen to your thoughts, my friends. Thank you very much for the messages of congratulations and criticism too,” he said.
How did Kenyans feel about Ruto re-appointing him? Moses Kuria Eliud Owalo
Previously, Ruto also reappointed former Ministers in his administration.
Ruto reinstated former Minister of Technology and Communications Eliud Owalo as deputy chief of staff, Performance Management and Delivery.
Former Minister of Public Service Moses Kuria also returned to Ruto's administration after being appointed as chief economic advisor.
The latest presidential appointment has been received with mixed opinions as some Kenyans wonder why Kuria and Owalo were sacked and re-appointed.
