Actress Dorea Chege and her lover, DJ Dibul, have announced the birth of their new baby, a girl.
The two were over the moon, and in a post shared by Dibul on Instagram, they marvelled at how honoured they were to finally have a baby, hailing it as truly the Lord’s doing.
The lovers also shared a heartwarming photo of them holding their bundle of joy, where Dorea sat in a hospital bed while Dibul stood beside her, embracing her.
The child is their first, and in a caption to the Instagram post they shared, Chege recalled her pregnancy journey, noting that she had been praying for it throughout and expressing her happiness at finally delivering.
“I fought for you and prayed for you. I yearned for you,” she shared.
She welcomed her little one to the world with tender words, describing her as something precious to them while also reflecting on how she had come to realise that all the struggles she had faced during the pregnancy were worth everything.
“Now, holding you in my arms, I realise that all the sacrifices, all the struggles, were worth every single moment. Welcome to the world, our princess,” she shared.
The lovebirds had first revealed that they were expecting on January 3, 2025, and the birth of their baby comes barely two months after that announcement.
At the time, they made the revelation on their YouTube channel but did not disclose how far along Dorea was, only confirming that the rumours circulating about them expecting a child were indeed true.
“Let’s confirm it to them. There were rumours out there, but we had not addressed them. Nobody knows how far we are,” DJ Dibul had shared.
First pregnancy
While appearing in an interview in July 2023, Dorea refuted claims that she had ever been pregnant before and shared that she had also never had a child, as some people had been speculating.
The thespian was responding to fans who had put her on the spot, saying she had been with DJ Dibul for a long time and should consider making him a father.
According to her, some people had also been spreading the false narrative that she was not eager to have a child because she had lost one, but she dismissed all the claims, stating that she would share the news in her own time when she was truly expecting.
“Some people were like, ‘You should now give Dibul a child.’ Others would defend me, saying, ‘Give her time to heal; she lost a child.’ I have never been pregnant, and I have never had a miscarriage. How can I have three babies in one year? Be patient—when we get pregnant, we will tell you,” she said at the time.
