‘We need to help him’

Thomas Tuchel is focused on creating the right structure to maximise Jude Bellingham’s impact, believing he is a key player for England’s success.

England manager Thomas Tuchel wants to make Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham feel at home since he believes the 21-year-old is a vital member of the squad.

Thomas Tuchel believes the world is yet to see what Jude Bellingham can do and believes that finding a right structure for him will get the best out of him.

The former Chelsea manager believes that Jude Bellingham carries a lot of weight on his shoulders as far as impressing the team is concerned and going forward, the other players might leave all the burden to him.

Harambee Stars will shift focus to their World Cup qualifier against Gabon in Nairobi on Sunday and here is everything you need to know about the must-win clash.

In England’s match against Albania, Jude Bellingham was impressive as he set up a pass to Myles Lewis-Skelly, who scored the opening goal.

“He’s a key player for us and will be a key player. It’s now our job to find the structure and the space to make the most of him,” Thomas Tuchel said as quoted by Sky Sports.

“He had some highlight moments but sometimes it felt that maybe he was trying to do too much. I think that he is always ready to give everything.

2026 World Cup qualifiers: US-based striker Denis Bouanga targets Kenya as Gabon chase historic qualification

Gabon forward Denis Bouanga has put Harambee Stars on notice ahead of vital 2026 World Cup qualifier.

“I think we need to help him within a structure that he can play more economically and still have the same impact, or maybe even more impact.”

He explained that there needs to be a partnership in how the team operates and they need to have the same goals for that to be possible.

Thomas Tuchel strongly believes in communication and has always urged the players to speak up. He added that when they are more honest and mindful of each other, winning the 2026 World Cup will be a walk in the park.

Victor Wanyama has been named alongside Virgil van Dijk as one of Celtic’s best teammates, with Scott Brown recalling his dominance on the pitch.

Thomas Tuchel admitted that Jude Bellingham stands out as one of the most vocal players and he does not want to change that.

“We need to make sure that the leaders, the main players, the key players walk into the same direction and play in the same rhythm and help each other out, and play a little bit more disciplined maybe, to save some energy for the decisive moments,” Thomas Tuchel.

“It seems that he talks to his senior players, teammates, the referee… and coaches, I’m sure. He is a very emotional player once he’s on the pitch and I think you just see that he hates to lose.

“Sometimes I think he will keep this hunger and learn to channel the emotions a little bit and that’s never a problem. It’s good to have him as he is and we will try to make the most out of it because, like I said, for me he’s a key player for us.”

England are currently on top of the table in Group K with three points following their win over Albania. They face off against Latvia on Monday before locking horns with Andorra, and Serbia in June.
