President William Ruto captured public attention on Sunday, March 23, 2025, with an unusual display of wardrobe versatility, changing outfits three times during a packed day of public engagements across the country.

Ruto’s fashion marathon began with a formal appearance at the African Inland Church in Jericho, Nairobi, where he attended a Sunday service dressed in a classic suit.

The church visit marked the start of a day that would see the President crisscross from the capital to Nakuru County before returning to Nairobi for a major sporting event.

“Behold, how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” — Psalm 133:1.

“Joined the clergy and congregants of African Inland Church, Jericho, Nairobi for Sunday Service,” Ruto wrote on social media as he began his day on Sunday.

By the afternoon, Ruto had swapped his formal attire for a more casual look.

At the World Rally Championship (WRC) Safari Rally in Hell’s Gate National Park, Naivasha, the President was spotted wearing a white T-shirt emblazoned with the WRC logo.

The shirt appeared to be the official attire for the high-octane event, with several other political leaders also donning similar outfits.

The rally, which marked the thrilling conclusion of the 2025 WRC Safari Rally, attracted thousands of spectators eager to witness the final leg of the iconic motorsport event. Ruto’s presence underscored his administration’s commitment to promoting international sporting events in Kenya.

As the sun set, Ruto made yet another wardrobe change for his third public appearance of the day.

At Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi, he joined former Prime Minister Raila Odinga to cheer on the national football team, Harambee Stars, as they faced off against Gabon. For the football match, Ruto sported the official Harambee Stars jersey, a gesture that resonated with the enthusiastic crowd.

The highly anticipated match, which kicked off at 4 p.m., drew a massive turnout of fans eager to support the national team.

Despite the overwhelming home support and the presence of high-profile political figures, Harambee Stars fell short, suffering a 2-1 defeat to Gabon.

Ruto’s wardrobe changes throughout the day did not go unnoticed, with social media users speculating about the symbolism behind his different outfits.

Supporters interpreted the fashion marathon as a reflection of the President’s dynamic leadership style and ability to connect with diverse groups of Kenyans.

While the President’s triple wardrobe shift may have sparked curiosity, it also highlighted his active engagement in various aspects of public life—from faith and sports to fostering national unity alongside long-time political rival-turned-ally Raila Odinga.

As Kenya continues to host major international events, Ruto’s presence at these high-profile gatherings signals a keen interest in promoting the country on the global stage—in style.
