2 Kenyan politicians among 4 dead in an accident in Uganda

Two Kenyan politicians are among four people reported dead during an accident in northeastern Uganda on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

The four include Lopuko Elijah (52), Lotudo Philemon (54), Kariwoi Jackson (46) and the driver, Plimo Ben (40), all from West Pokot County.

The four were on their way to Kapenguria from Moroto in Uganda when the accident happened at around 8:00 pm, leading to the deaths and one survivor, according to a police report seen by K24 Digital.

Komolingiro Martin (54) from Kitale is the only survivor in the vehicle.

“Yesterday 22 Mar 25, there was a road traffic accident that took place along Moroto-Loroo road within Karamonjong area in Uganda at about 2000hrs involving Kenyans who were on their way back to Kapenguria, West Pokot from Moroto. Three passengers died together with the driver with one survivor,” the report read in part.

The remains of the deceased have been transferred to Cherangani Home Nursing Funeral Home.

“The only survivor in the vehicle is Komolingiro Martin 54yrs Pokot from Kitale. Postmortem was conducted and the bodies together with the survivor left Moroto Referral Hospital for West Pokot at 0300hrs currently in Cherangani Home Nursing Funeral Home,” the report added.
