How did Kenyan diplomats find Margaret Nduta?
Kenya's foreign affairs minister Korir Sing'oei issued a statement on the health status of a convicted Kenyan whose sentence to death by the Vietnam authorities was prevented after Nairobi intervened to rescue him.

Kenya for Vietnam's mercy?
While Kenya is looking for both legal and diplomatic options, experts have advised that adherence to diplomatic approach can be fruitful quickly and in peace.
However, this approach was somehow prevented by the fact that Kenya does not have an embassy in Vietnam. It is due to this situation that the government chose to send its team of diplomats from Thailand to assist in negotiations to find Nduta.

How did Margaret Nduta find himself in trouble?
The 37 -year -old's poor condition began when she was trapped by two kilograms of drugs at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Court records indicate that in July 2023, Nduta was awarded a contract by another Kenyan unidentified to send a jacket to Laos in southeast Asia.
The lawsuit says he was ordered to pass the jacket to a woman in a land without a port and return with an unplanned “goods”.
It is said that Nduta received an initial payment of $ 1,300 (equivalent to approximately KSh 168,000) for the work, with all travel costs, including air fares, being fully paid.
The Vietnam Authority showed that his journey involved passing through several countries before arriving at Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on July 14, 2023.
How Margaret Nduta defended
Due to the delay in arrival, the airport staff helped him complete the immigration procedures and helped him plan his journey to Laos.
During this process, customs officials discovered more than two kilograms of illegal drugs hidden within its load.
In his defense, Nduta claimed he was not aware of the drug in the box when he was handed over.
Prosecutors, however, dismissed his allegations as an attempt to avoid responsibility, saying he was responsible for transporting the illegal goods.
Finally, the court found Nduta guilty and sentenced the death sentence on Thursday, March 6.
