Kenyan newspaper: Gachagua is still a rock in Mount Kenya despite Ruto throwing him out of Kenya first

1. Saturday Nation

The post reported that although Geoffrey Rigathi Gachagua is no longer part of the Kenyan government, its influence is still strong.

Its allies in senior government positions have been expecting to be fired since its ouster in October last year.

However, President William Ruto has hesitated, fearing that removal could strengthen Gachagua's political position in Mount Kenya.

One notable in this situation is the Minister of Public Service Justin Muturiwho has openly defied Ruto.

The continued existence of the government poses a challenge for Ruto, who is also trying to deal with opposition party allies Raila Odinga.

Gachagua has put himself in the role of victim of political betrayal, using the resignation by the government to claim that Ruto is setting aside Mount Kenya.

The post reported that a Nairobi woman, Lilian Onduko, had taken legal action against her two Loresho neighbors, accusing them of harassing and interfering with her privacy due to complaints about her four dogs.

In a case presented in the Constitutional and Human Rights Unit of the Supreme Court, Onduko claims that his neighbors, James Squire and Bertie Turner, have falsely accused her of abandoning her dog and allowing them to cause a lot of noise.

He also claims that they have been involved in his personal life and spread scandals about him.

Oduko, authorized dog owner, has four pets: Dexter, Rottweiler/Labrador mix; Pablo, a mixture of German Shepherd/Rottweiler; and two german shepherd crosses, manga and fat.

He claims that his dog is receiving proper care, including regularly examined by a veterinarian and adequately fed, but complaints of his neighbors have lasted for about a year.

The controversy started after Squire and Turner moved into a house nearby early 2023.

Squire, in particular, complained about the dogs in the night, claiming that it disturbed her sleep and caused her emotional stress.

Anxiety increased on May 7, 2024, when Squire confronted him at his gate at midnight, demanding that he control the noise.

When he explained that the paste was normal, he was alleged to have been fierce, accusing him of ignoring animals.

3. The Star

According to the magazine, a woman from Baringo is detained in a prison Eldoret GK after allegedly killing her eight -month -old son following a dispute with her husband.

Kabarnet Chief Justice Purity Koskey decided on Thursday, March 20 that 28 -year -old Kangogo Kangogo should be kept on the second time.

Kangogo allegedly committed the crime on March 4 at 8pm. At their home in Turwekwei village, small Central Baringo County.

The court was informed that a preliminary intellectual examination by a psychiatrist. Stanley Kilelit found Kangogo with no good mind when he was brought to court.

However, the assessment did not clearly determine the nature of its mental state. As a result, the prosecution requested a second assessment before proceeding with the charges.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) intends to prosecute Kangogo for the killing of infants under section 210, which is read along with section 205 of the Penal Code.

Given the vague results of the first assessment, Dr. Kilelit suggested Kangogo be undergoing further medical evaluation.

In response, Judge Koskey ordered a second assessment to be conducted while Kangogo was left in the Eldoret Women GK prison.

Kangogo's husband, Ronald Yator, reported to the police that they were living in peace as a family with their child until the tragic incident occurred.

4. Nation Today

The Swahili newspaper reports that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga appears to hold different meetings with ministers from his ODM party, without official cabinet sessions led by President William Ruto.

Raila and Ruto signed a cooperation agreement that identifies the ten key issues that will be highlighted, though they insisted that they did not share the authority.

While Ruto presiding over the official cabinet sessions, Raila has been consulting with ministers from his party.

On Thursday, March 20, he met with four ministers linked to the ODM and other leaders from his wing in parliament, just hours before the president made changes to the chief secretaries.

At the meeting, Raila spoke to Energy Minister Opiyo Wandayi, Minister of Minerals and Marine Economy Hassan Joho, Cooperative Minister Wycliffe Oparanya, Finance Minister John Mbadi, and East African Community Affairs Minister Askul Moe, who has referred to as experts contributing to administrative reforms.

The session was also attended by the Chairman of the Tax Authority (KRA), Ndiritu Muriithi, a minority leader in the National Assembly Junet Mohamed, and minority leader Stewart Madzayo.

Muriithi also serves as Raila's economic advisor, while Junet and Madzayo are members of the ODM.

At Thursday's meeting, more than ten Raila partners were nominated in various positions of the Secretary -General, thus strengthening its influence on the government.

Political analysts argue that all signs signify Raila to be a similar ally in the government, despite the lack of legally recognized position.
