What did Olunga tell Kenyans?
Kenya were about to lose the game against the Gambia but William Lenkupae scored the final minute and saved hard points for Harambee Stars.
Olunga scored the first goal for a penalty kick followed by Mohammed Bajaber's goal. Yankuba Minteh's goal was set out between Moses Barrow's two goals.
The draw was not good for Kenya as they still hold fourth place in Group F with six points, six behind their opponents on Sunday. As such, they need to win their remaining games to get a chance to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.
“The team fought a lot, showed a tendency from two goals down and fought until the last minute to score a equalizer,” Olunga said to FKF.
“Get yourself out of abundance to support the team. It's important because we play at home for the first time in four years. We promise to give a good calculation about ourselves.”
Kenya defeated Gabon in the first match and fans could be a reason against a team led by veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Can Kenya drop Gabon?
Harambee Stars did well in the first period against the Gambia but were guilty of making mistakes.
Goalkeeper Ian Otieno gave a penalty but saved, while Olunga missed the header.
Benni McCarthy was not pleased with some of the team's performances but was pleased with the fight.
“I am very stressed, I am not happy. For the neutral, the most entertaining, many goals because you do not see that in the World Cup qualifying,” McCarthy said to FKF.
“The glow that I saw gives me hope that we can take one step better than today. It will be hard [vs Gabon] But we will get support from all Kenyans. “
Kenya played the last time in home land in 2021 against Rwanda in the World Cup qualifier. The lack of FIFA -approved stadium saw the matches played in the semifinals.
For example, Kenya played three home matches in the semifinals during the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifying match. Kenya will hope the support of fans can help them secure their second victory.
