The president is scheduled to return to the area for an official visit after several months of resolve this is after his dispute with Gachagua, which reached the peak of his removal.
On Thursday, March 20, the President held a meeting with part of the elected officials from Mount Kenya in the Nairobi White House, in preparation for his first visit to the area after the removal of Gachagua.

Murang'a Senator Joe Nyutu, a former deputy president, said he would attend public meetings of Ruto And to find an opportunity to advise him on certain issues.
Nyutu, while speaking in an interview with Citizen TV, said among the questions he had is why the president appears to be at war with Mount Kenya and targeting the locals in the government's two parliamentary cleanup movements.
He said the president has nothing to do with the development of the area.
“Ruto is welcomed to Mount Kenya because you are in Kenya, and no one can stop him from visiting any part of the country.
If it was his first visit since Gachaua was removed from office, Nyutu said the president would have to explain why he left his former deputy despite his commitment to the 2022 vote to help him become president.

For his part, Gatanga MP Edward Muriu warned the president against persuading the people of Mount Kenya and development projects, while the projects he launched earlier were stuck.
The MP predicted Ruto would receive a hate reception if he agreed to the public with his remarks.
