The request, supported by 2,000 signatures, wants the governor to appear before the parliament to explain who is leading the county government at the moment.
Kihika, who appeared in public last time on November 18, 2024, has held that he is in maternity leave, a claim that some residents now want to be certified.
“We are implementing section 15 of the County Government Act 2012 where we can publicly submit applications on public affairs and especially the absence of one governor Kihika Susan,” said Kimori Evans, a resident.
The complainants argued that Kihika's absence has created a gap in leadership, with county secretary Samuel Mwaura allegedly taking on the responsibilities of the governor and excluding deputy governor David Kones.
The lack of open communication from the governor's office has prompted residents to question the validity of the decisions made without him.
