Kenyan fans appear determined to fill up Nyayo Stadium for Harambee Stars’ 2026 World Cup qualifier against Gabon on Sunday March 23.

Harambee Stars put in a gallant performance against The Gambia when they came back twice to rescue a 3-3 draw in coach Benni McCarthy’s first match in charge on Thursday and that result has given them confidence of a positive outcome in their fixture against The Panthers in Nairobi this weekend.

Supporters are also determined to add their voice and push the team going by the speed at which tickets are being bought for the crucial match in what will be a first competitive game for Harambee Stars on home soil since November 2021.

As per an update from Football Kenya Federation, Kenyan fans have snapped up 70 percent of the regular tickets, 50 percent VIP tickets sold while 40 percent VVIP tickets had been purchased by Friday morning.

Harambee Stars scored a last-minute goal to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw with The Gambia and after the stalemate, they have it all to do to claim a first-ever World Cup ticket.

It shows the interest the national team has generated from supporters and the numbers are likely to go up after the team’s second half performance against The Gambia in Abidjan on Thursday when the introduction of exciting talents like Mohammed Bajaber and William Lenkupae added a spark into the game.
