Nairobi – President William Ruto He has announced a new change in his first Kenyan administration.
When did William Ruto mention the new chief secretaries?
In a statement on Thursday, March 20, the President initiated a change in the ranks of the chief secretaries and approved the national foreign service positions.
The head of state appointed 14 people to be appointed chief secretaries, including former KMPDU Secretary Oluga Ouma.
Public Service Chief and Head of Staff Felix Koskei said the change was influenced by the need to take advantage of the emerging sectors of the economy.
“Mr. President today has initiated a change in government structure. The President's action, updated as a decree of No 1 of 2025, leads to the appointment and planning of the new state department, as well as the submission of foreign service.
“These changes are fueled by the need to take advantage of the economic sector, as well as addressing the challenges affecting the Kenyan social system. Together, these changes aim to accelerate the implementation of the social and economic governance program, the agenda of low-up economic change (Beta),” Ruto said.

Some of the president's recommendation, such as Oluga, Think, and Karugu, are close allies of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The change came a few weeks after Ruto signed a compromise agreement (MoU) with the ODM leader.
