In 2024, a passenger car (PSV) traveling to Mombasa from Nairobi was set on fire in the Mtito Andei area, inside the Tsavo national park.
Photos from the scene caught the car of the Coast Bus company that was set on fire before it was completely destroyed. To Luck Good, all the passengers and the driver were safely released before the bus became ashes.
Reports indicate that the fire was fueled by brake water on the rear wheel. After they were moved, passengers were moved to the rescue bus and continued their journey to Mombasa without any incident.
