The National Police Service (NPS) has reiterated their commitment to upholding safety during the WRC Safari Rally 2025 set to take place in Naivasha from Thursday, March 20, to Sunday, March 23, 2025.
In a statement shared via their official X page, NPS advised members of the public and rally enthusiasts to adhere to directives issued by organizers and police to ensure safety at the event.
“These directives include, but are not limited to, using alternative routes or rescheduling travel plans,” NPS said.
Additionally, NPS announced that traffic police officers had been deployed on the roads to ensure smooth flow of traffic, disclosing that they were collaborating with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) to conduct road safety compliance checks.
The police service also appealed to motorists, pedestrians and other road users to exercise extreme caution and adhere to traffic rules to combat accidents.
“We particularly urge bus and lorry drivers to refrain from parking along the Naivasha–Nakuru Road or causing obstructions,” the agency added.
Adding;
“We urge all persons to report crime and other activities that contravene the law to any police officer, the nearest police station or through our toll-free numbers: 999, 911, 112, and #FichuakwaDCI 0800 722 203.”
While reaffirming its commitment to serving and protecting, the agency expressed enthusiasm over the event noting that it will significantly boost the country’s tourism and hospitality industry.
“Safari Rally Kenya is not only renowned for its challenging rally stages but also for its stunning landscapes, wildlife, and the unparalleled hospitality of the Kenyan people. It is truly a remarkable experience, marking the ultimate test of endurance that combines the best of motorsport with the unique beauty of Kenya,” NPS said.
Adding;
“The event attracts more than 100,000 visitors and is watched by over 120 million people in 170 countries globally, with over 50 international television channels airing it. This immense publicity will significantly boost the tourism and hospitality industry.”
