African billionaires: The list of the richest men in Africa 2025, where they come from with their business

The continent's economic growth is predicted to improve from 3.4% by 2024 to 3.7% in 2025 and more to 4.0% in 2026.

African billionaires in 2025 are showing various economic conditions of the continent, with wealth based on resources such as cement, oil, diamonds, luxury products, telecommunications and banks.

Nigeria And South Africa leads the list, winning seven of the top ten positions, followed by Egypt in three positions.

Who are the richest ones in Africa?

According to the Forbes billionaire list, these are the richest in Africa and their businesses:

1. Aliko Dangote – Nigeria

Leading the list is once again a Nigerian industrial trader Aliko Dangote, whose value has risen to an average of $ 23.9 billion (KSh 3.09 trillion) by March 2025.

The 67 -year -old's wealth is sponsored by the Dangote group, a coalition with large stocks of cement, sugar and gasoline. Its crown masterpiece, Dangote's oil refinery, the largest oil refinery in Africa, started full work in 2024, producing up to 500,000 barrels of crude oil a day by early 2025.

Dangote's vision is more widespread in oil, with plans to expand its fertilizer factory and list a public cleaning factory within the next two years.

2. Johann Rupert – South Africa

South African luxury products Johann Rupert holds second place in a wealth of $ 10.1 billion (KSh 1.31 trillion). At the age of 74, Rupert leads the Compagnie Financiere Richemont, a famous brand of brands such as Cartier and Montblanc.

Despite a slight decline from $ 10.7 billion (KSh 1.38 trillion) in 2023 due to a decline in stock prices, his empire remains an international leader in the luxury industry. Rupert's wealth is further enhanced by its investment through Remgro, a South African investment company with interest in banks, health care, and consumer products.

3. Nicky Oppenheimer – South Africa

4. Nassef Sawiris – Egypt

Egyptian billionaire Nassef Sawiris, 64, is proud of a wealth of $ 8.7 billion (KSh 1.13 trillion), pushed by his OCI NV leadership, an international leader in construction and fertilizer.

Sawiris is committed to improving infrastructure in Africa and the Middle East. His investment also involved sports, with a huge stock in Adidas and ownership interests at Aston Villa football club in the Premier League.

5. Mike Adenuga – Nigeria

The 71 -year -old Nigerian telecommunications champion collects five richest Africans with a wealth of $ 6.9 billion (KSh 892.86 billion).

Adenuga's wealth is contributed by Globacom, one of the largest telecommunications companies in Africa, and its oil research company, Conoil Producing.
