However, Castro got a recovery when the Ecuador's Taado boat workers saw him and rescued hundreds of miles from the coast of Peru.
How did Máximo Napa Castro get stuck in the Pacific?
The New York Times reported that Castro had left the port of Peru of Marcona on Sunday, December 7, with enough food for a month.
He had gone to the sea to find a roof who is also known as fish eggs, but on the 13th of his trip, his boat engine failed.

Without any help, he invented a way to live, distributing his food and relying on rainwater by drinking.
How did Castro live for 95 days?
CNN It was reported that after his rescue, Castro said he survived depending on bugs, birds and turtle, drinking their blood to have water after lack of food.
In tears, he remembered how he was angry with God, questioning whether anyone would come to save him.
The 61 -year -old said thoughts about his mother made her despair, as well as her desire to live for her 2 -month -old grandson.
“I ate a raven, a bird, what I ate was a sea turtle, I didn't want to die, my mother is alive and I said I don't want to die because of my mother, I also have a two -month -old grandson, I held her,” Castro said in tears.
After being rescued, Castro appeared weak and dehydrated, due to sunburn due to prolonged sunrise in the sea.

The fisherman's daughter described the emotional and psychological pain that their family endured, unsure whether Castro was alive or dead.
They even sought help from the local fishermen, who agreed to find him, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
“We did not lose hope or faith. We believed that we would finally find my father,” Castro's daughter said.
After being rescued, the helicopter transported Castro to the sail of the Peruvian coast, where he received medical care, according to the Peruvian naval army.
