The royal couple were welcomed to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) and Deputy President Kithure KindikiMinister of Agriculture Mutahi Kagwe, and other senior government officials.

On Tuesday, March 18, the royal couple will be officially welcomed by Ruto and his wife Rachel Ruto at the Nairobi palace. This will be followed by debates between the members and the signing of a compromise agreement on key sectors such as tourism, trade, security, agriculture and fisheries.

As part of their diplomatic conversation, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will put a flower in the grave of an unknown hero in honor of the heroes of Kenya's independence.

Kenya and Economic Cooperation of Kenya and the Netherlands

The visit will also focus on Kenya's efforts in climate stages. King and Queen will take part in a tree planting event in Nairobi as a contribution to the country's 15 billion trees' plan to 2032.
