Why was Rigathi Gachagua denied the opportunity to speak in the church?
Sunday, March 16, Rigathi Gachagua, former Vice President Kalonzo MusyokaDap-K leader Eugene Wamalwa and Governor Johnson Sakaja attended a service at St. Cathedral. Stephen in Nairobi.
During the service, the Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Kenya, Jackson Ole Sapit, forbade all politicians to speak.
Ole Sapit announced that politicians have been banned from addressing believers in all Anglican churches in the country.

According to the Archbishop, politicians will only be recognized, but those who want to address the believers will do so outside the church after worship.
“When recognizing all those in attendance arrives, we will do so, but I want to give a tendency that from today and in the future, in all the Anglican church gatherings, there will be no opportunity for any political leader to give a speech in the church. If they want to address the believers, then they will do so outside the church. Alas Sapit announced.
He added that contributions from politicians will not be publicly announced, emphasizing that giving to God is a personal matter.
“We have already announced and we want to announce today that sacrifices in the Anglican church will not be publicly proclaimed; just give how God guides you to give. What we give God, we do not need to tell mankind,” he added.
Other leaders who missed the opportunity to speak are Makadara MP George Aladwa and Murang'a Senator Joe Nyotu.

In another statement, the Commission on National Equality and Confederation (NCIC) rebuked Gachagua for alleged incitement.
On Monday, March 3, the NCIC accused the former Deputy President of making statements described as provocative when he criticized the President William Ruto.
NCIC chairman, Samuel Kobia, warned Gachagua against making statements that divide people in ethnicity into a letter seen by TUKO.co.ke.
The NCIC chief quoted Gachagua's allegation that the president had a conspiracy to oust the chief justice Martha Koome In power.
Gachagua warned that Ruto should not dare to visit Meru County if Koome was removed from office.
However, Kobia explained that Gachagua's remarks are a violation of the President's constitutional rights as a symbol of national unity.
