Why was Rigathi Gachagua denied the opportunity to speak in the church?

On Sunday, March 16, Gachagua, former Vice President Kalonzo MusyokaDap-K leader Eugene Wamalwa and Governor Johnson Sakaja attended a church service at St. Stephen's Cathedral in Nairobi.

During the service, the Archbishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya Jackson Ole Sapit denied all politicians the opportunity to speak.

Ole Sapit announced that all politicians have been banned from addressing believers in Anglican churches across the country.

According to the Anglican archbishop, politicians will only be accepted, but those who want to address believers can do so outside the church after worship.

“When it comes to recognizing all those who have arrived, we will do so but I want to give a focus that from today and continue in any Anglican congregation, there will be no room for any political leader to have a speech in the church. If they want to address the meeting, it will be made out of the sanctuary. Not only today but in all our Diocese and churches, “ Alas Sapit announced.

He added that contributions from politicians will not be publicly announced, saying that giving God is private.

“We have already announced and we want to announce today that the delivery of the Anglican Church will not be announced; Just give it as God directs you to give. What we give God does not have to tell people what we have given him, ” he added.

Other leaders who were denied the opportunity to speak include Makadara MP George Aladwa and Murang'a Senator Joe Nyotu.

Other news, the National Commission on Equality and Compatibility (NCIC) put Gachagua on the spot for alleged hate speech.

On Monday, March 3, the NCIC accused the former deputy president of making inflammatory remarks while criticizing the president William Ruto.

NCIC chairman Samuel Kobia warned Gachagua against making statements of ethnic divisions in a letter seen by TUKO.co.ke.

The NCIC boss quoted Gachagua's allegation that the president had a conspiracy Martha Koome.

The second commander had warned Ruto not to visit Meru County if Koome was removed from office.

However, Kobia cited Gachagua's remarks in violation of the President's constitutional rights as a symbol of national unity.
