Migori: A woman burns her husband with hot water on suspicion of planning to marry a second wife

Migori – Police in Migori County have launched an investigation after a woman attacked her husband on suspicion of having an affair with another woman.

Why was Emily Otieno arrested?

Citizen Digital reported that Emily Otieno attacked her husband, Evance Odhiambo, at 9pm on Saturday, March 16, in Kadar-Posi village in Uriri.

North Kanyamkago area chief Silvance Owiti confirmed the incident saying Emily poured her husband hot water before attacking her with a sword.

According to the local chief, the suspect cut the victim several times in the head and other parts of the body and left him thinking he was dead.

Odhiambo cried for help, and neighbors who found him in critical condition rushed him to the Migori Level Four hospital, where he was lying.

The local chief revealed that a preliminary investigation showed that she had stabbed her husband after hearing that she was planning to marry a second wife.

“We have not yet identified the reasons for the attack, but preliminary investigations revealed that the woman attacked her husband because she heard that she was planning to marry a second wife,” Owiti said.

Police have arrested the suspect, and will be brought to court on Monday, March 17.
