Shabana playmaker Keith Imbali reveals secret behind recent high-scoring wins

Shabana midfielder Keith Imbali has opened up on who is motivating them to record big wins as witnessed in their last two games.

Shabana playmaker Keith Imbali has lauded the club’s passionate supporters for being key in the team’s recent upturn in form.

Shabana have put behind a four-match winless run to claim back-to-back victories in the FKF Premier League as well as FKF Cup.

In both wins, they won by big margins, beating Kakamega Homeboyz 4-1, before las weekend’s 5-1 in victory over Plantech.

Imbali, who joined Shabana in the midseason transfer window, is among players who are flourishing with a goal and assist and he credits it to the impact of the 12th man.

“It makes a big difference to have fans like we do. In the bad moments, they help us and we always want to say thank you through what we do on the pitch and try to win the game for them,” said Imbali.

“We play football for this. You play for the fans, you play for the good moments and you play for that feeling at the stadium.”

Imbali is among a host of players signed midseason as Shabana sought to address some weak areas in the team, the former Kariobangi Sharks midfielder joined by Douglas Mokaya, Moses Shikanda, Derrick Oketch, Oscar Juma, Duke Kurio, Frank Mandela as new signings while Nehemiah Onchiri returned from his loan spell.

The Glamour Boys are now looking up rather than down, unlike last season when they stayed in the relegation zone for most of the campaign, and can move up to fifth place if they secure another big win against AFC Leopards on Sunday.
