Despite the competition for the left back position with Ricardo Calafiori, Lewis-Skelly has shown maturity beyond his years. Lewis-Skelly has spent his entire career with Arsenal, making his first-team debut during the 2024–25 season.

The Injury to Calafiori early in the season came as a blessing in disguise for Lewis-Skelly, who grabbed the opportunity and has become better with each passing game. Mikel Arteta has been forced to rotate Lewis Skelly with Calafiori for game time.

On 2 February 2025, Lewis-Skelly scored his first goal for Arsenal in a rampant 5–1 victory against City at the Emirates Stadium. After scoring his first Arsenal goal, Lewis-Skelly dropped to his knees before crossing his arms in the meditation celebration so often used by Erling Haaland himself. The teenager relished this moment of pure theatre.

The 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly has only played 12 Premier League games in his career and has already picked up two red cards. Myles Lewis-Skelly now has more red cards (2) than trophies in his career so far. That’s definitely not the kind of stat a young player wants to be known for.

On September 7, 2024, Lewis-Skelly made his England U19 debut during a 1–1 draw away to Croatia. On March 14, 2025, Lewis-Skelly received his first England senior call-up, for the World Cup qualifying matches against Albania and Latvia under head coach Thomas Tuchel. He will hope to repay the faith shown in him by doing the talking on the field when he is given a chance.

Predominantly a left back, the teenager is capable of playing in central midfield. Football publication, Goal described him as “excellent with the ball at his feet”, with impressive technique, and an engine needed to be able to get from box to box.

Lewis-Skelly has garnered stylistic comparisons to the likes of Arturo Vidal & Michael Essien, all-action midfielders capable of imposing themselves onto games. However, he needs not to rush into clumsy challenges and reduce his temperament.
