Fuel prices for the period running from March 15 to April 14, 2025, will remain unchanged, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced.
EPRA, in a statement released on Friday, March 14, 2025, said the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene remain unchanged for the period under review.
The prices of super petrol, diesel, and kerosene will continue to retail at Ksh176.58, Ksh167.068, and Ksh151.39, respectively, effective midnight for the next 30 days.
“In accordance with Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act 2019 and Legal Notice No. 192 of 2022, we have calculated the maximum retail prices of petroleum products, which will be in force from 15th March 2025 to 14th April 2025. In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene remain unchanged,” EPRA announced.
EPRA on VAT
The regulator says the prices are inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020.
“The prices are inclusive of the 16% Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024, and the revised rates for excise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 2020,” EPRA stated.
Fuel prices in major towns
The announcement will see a litre of super petrol retail at Ksh173.34 in Mombasa, Ksh176.58 in Nairobi, Ksh175.80 (Nakuru), Ksh176.62 (Eldoret and Kisumu).
Diesel will retail at Ksh163.82 (Mombasa), Ksh167.06 (Nairobi), Ksh166.63 (Nakuru), Ksh167.45 (Eldoret), and Ksh167.44 (Kisumu).
Kerosene will sell at Ksh151.82 (Kisumu and Eldoret), Ksh151.01 (Nakuru), Ksh151.39 (Nairobi), and Ksh148.15 (Mombasa).
