An attempt by musician Diana Marua to bond with the family dog, Coco, went horribly wrong after the dog suddenly turned against her, lunging at her with unexpected aggression, leaving her screaming and dashing back into the house in sheer panic.

In a video shared on her YouTube page on Friday, March 14, 2025, Diana is seen outside her house, parading her children and excitedly announcing her plan for them to start routinely freeing Coco from his kennel during the day so he could bask in the sun and get used to their presence.

However, the kids were visibly against the idea right from the start, with her daughter Majesty immediately shutting it down, bluntly stating that the dog was aggressive and that was exactly why they had never been eager to set him loose.

Diana, however, stood her ground, insisting that it had been nearly five months since they bought Coco, yet he had remained locked up the entire time, noting that she felt bad for him because he deserved to stretch his legs and play around.

Chaotic moment

Determined to prove there was nothing to fear, she boldly ordered one of their workers to set him free, but before the kennel door even swung open, all her children had already bolted back into the house, leaving only Diana, who had been the most sympathetic towards the dog, standing alone outside.

The moment Coco was released, much to Diana’s utter shock, instead of calmly stepping out to enjoy his freedom, the dog locked eyes on her, charged at full speed, barking furiously before pouncing on her chest with so much force she stumbled backwards.

As she tried to dodge his next move, Coco lunged again, this time aiming straight for her thigh, leaving Diana shrieking in terror, frantically trying to twist and turn her way out of the mess, making quick, panicked movements to confuse the dog so she could get a chance to escape.

Luckily for her, the worker who had unleashed him quickly sprang into action and managed to restrain him just in time, giving Diana the perfect window to make a mad dash for the house, where her children had been watching the entire nightmare unfold.

Getting Rid of Him

Still visibly shaken, Diana, who could barely believe what had just happened, expressed her shock at Coco’s behaviour and immediately announced that she was done with him and would have him taken away or sold off.

She made it clear that the dog was leaving that same day and urged her children not to feel bad about it, stating that she now saw him as a threat to their safety. However, seeing that most of them were not ready to let Coco go, she promised them she would replace him with a kitten or a much calmer Chihuahua.

“Coco needs to go. Hiyo Coco imenikasirisha hata natetemeka roho saa hii. Coco kaa huko. Hiyo Coco iwekwe ndani, please. Sikimbii tena. I’m not running for my life again. You guys, I want your suggestions—should he go? Because me, I want him to go. Should we replace him with a kitten or a Chihuahua? A white fluffy dog. So here’s the thing—I’m going to give him away, but I will replace him with something better. And he will not come back.”
