On Thursday, March 13, the President continued his visit to Nairobi County a few days after signing a political agreement with the ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Speaking in Lang'ata, Ruto said his administration would turn Kibra's slum into a field over the next decade.
The head of state indicated that in the next 10 to 15 years, Kibra would be a field of international status and access to water, electricity and toilets easily.

Ruto emphasized that his administration is committed to improving the living conditions of millions of Kenyans who are currently living in informal settlements.
“The way we see Kibra today as a poor neighborhood, we will change it in the next 10 or 15 years. If God wills, it will be a field where citizens live in a clean area with water, electricity and toilets,” Ruto said.

“Today I came to launch cheap houses here in Lang'ata. We are building 15,000 houses, and they will be built by young people from Lang'ata,” he added.
The president called on the youth to support the government's plans, saying that many of them are for improving their well -being.
