Nairobi – Investigating officials from the Ethics and Anti -Corruption Commission (EACC) have arrested three suspects allegedly pretending to be senior EACC investigators and robbing senior government officials and heads of public organizations.

Among those trapped include former Kyululu ward in Kitui East parliament James Mbuvi to eat, as well as Mike Muthami Kasingi and Raphael Muthoka Kithembe.

The three were trapped in Three Hut's bar in Komarock as they were waiting to deceive the complainant who had surpassed them and notified the authorities.

The search conducted by EACC investigators resulted in the discovery of 12 mobile phones, SIM cards 22 and eight registers with names and descriptions of targeted victims.

The commission has called on Kenyans to be vigilant and confirm the identity of anyone who claims to be an EACC investigator.

“EACC investigators have official identity cards at work. In addition, calls are only issued through formal written communications, directing individuals to arrive at headquarters, regional offices, or police station,” The commission said.

Investigations are underway as the authorities seek to disperse the suspect.
