FKF opens applications for CAF C coaching course in Nakuru with minimal slots available

The FKF has steppef up its eforts to revamp grassroot football by encouraging enrollement for the CA C coaching course in Nakuru.

Football Kenya Federation has officially opened applications for the upcoming CAF C License Coaching Course, set to take place in Nakuru from Monday, April 7, to Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

This initiative aims to enhance the technical expertise of local coaches, ensuring they meet the evolving demands of modern football.

The two-month course will be conducted in modules, allowing participants to gain practical and theoretical knowledge essential for their coaching development. FKF Technical Director Michael Amenga underscored the significance of structured coaching programs in shaping the future of Kenyan football.


Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has joined the list of highest paid Africa national team coaches but he still does not compare to many others on the continent.


“This course is not just about certification; it’s about equipping coaches with modern coaching methodologies and trends that will directly impact grassroots and elite football. Investing in coaching education is investing in the future of Kenyan football, and we encourage all eligible coaches to take this opportunity,” Amenga said.

To qualify for the CAF C course, applicants must meet the following requirements: Be an active coach, hold a CAF D License diploma with at least one year of practical experience and be proficient in reading and writing in one of Kenya’s official languages.Other requirements include submitting a curriculum vitae and a fully filled FKF coach registration form one must have Have a valid Gmail account for CMS application purposes

Benni McCarthy played for FC Porto, Blackburn Rovers in England and was an assistant coach at Manchester United.


The registration fee is Ksh 15,000, and applications must be submitted via email to technical@footballkenya.org before the deadline on Friday, April 4, 2025. Late applications will not be considered.

With only 30 slots available, FKF encourages early applications to secure a place in the course. Michael Amenga also emphasized the necessity of acquiring coaching certifications, stating,

“Coaching education is a key pillar in football development. We want every aspiring coach to have a fair chance at advancing their qualifications and contributing to the growth of Kenyan football. A well-structured coaching system translates to better-prepared players and stronger national teams.”

The course will be instrumental in bridging the gap between grassroots and elite coaching, giving coaches the necessary skills to nurture the next generation of football stars.
