The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has appealed for information leading to the arrest of three persons of interest in the murder of Campbell Scott- a Briton who had come into the country for a conference.
In a statement on Friday, March 7, 2025, DCI sent appeals to Kenyans to help them trace three individuals in connection with the murder of Campbell.
“The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is calling upon members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of three murder suspects whose photographs are displayed below,” DCI noted.
“The suspects are linked to the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton, Campbell Scott, whose partially decomposed body was found on February 22, 2025, in Makongo Forest, Makueni Sub-County. Scott had arrived in the country just days earlier to attend a business conference.”
Robbed a pastor
The three new persons of interest in the case were previously arrested in 2024 after police revealed that they were involved in the robbery of a Nairobi pastor who was abducted in the Nyayo National Stadium area.
“Following the heinous crime and subsequent dumping of his body, the trio Benard Mbunga Mbusu, Samuel Musembi Kamitu, and Alphonse Munyao Kilewa alias Edu fled and have since gone into hiding,” DCI noted.

“Would you happen to know their whereabouts? Do you have any information that could help expedite their arrest? Please contact our toll-free hotline at 0800 722 203 at any time to report anonymously, or report to any police station near you.”
In the February 2024 case, the three were accused of bundling the pastor into a waiting saloon car from where they stripped him naked, took pictures of him and demanded money lest they share his photos online.
Under duress, the pastor is reported to have transferred Ksh55,000 to one of the suspects’ phones before he was released.
Two other detained persons
In the Briton’s case, police are now looking at links between the three and two others Albanus Mutinda Nzioka and Alex Mutua Kithuka who were detained for 21 more days on March 4, 2025.

“Albunus Mutinda Nzioka and Alex Mutua Kithuka, the prime suspects in the brutal murder of 58-year-old Briton Campbell Scott, will remain in police custody for 21 days as the investigation continues,” DCI stated on March 4, 2025.
“Scott’s partly decomposed body was discovered on February 22, 2025, in the Mukuyuni area of Makueni Sub-County, just days after he arrived in the country for a business conference. Forensic evidence has conclusively linked the two suspects to the murder, leading to their arraignment.”
