Bodaboda operators welcomed the body of the late Chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in the city Kitale and escorting a car carrying a corpse to his father's house.

The body was transported by plane to Kitale.

Kitale residents flooded the house of the former government official to look at his body carried in a car carrying a corpse.

The uniform men were seen directing mourners and stabilizing at home. The mourners were also heard singing songs of mourning.

His sons, Jonathan and Emmanuel, were seen standing next to their mother after the body was taken to a tent.

The mourners were given time to look at the body, and there was also a mass at his father's home.

Where will Chebikati be buried?

During a Mass of Chebikati's memorial at Citam Church in Karen, Nairobi, his wife revealed that the government had assured her that her husband would be given a government funeral.

Mary noted that she was concerned since she was asked to serve 2,000 foreigners who said she was foreigners of politicians.

He said:

“… I want to continue, I was appreciated financial support; you have been so great. We were told we would do a government funeral but it would take place at home, but again, at the government's funeral, we still have to get help to cover some costs.

Chebikati's widow revealed that her husband would be sent to her father on Thursday, March 6.

He revealed that Chebikati's father had insisted that his son's body should be taken to his home before his last break. Mary asked the mourners to pray for her father -in -law. He added:
