Kenyan music sensation Stevo Simple Boy has put his foot down and declared that he is willing to support his ex-wife, Grace Atieno, if a DNA test proves that he is the father of her child.
The “Freshi Barida” hitmaker made this statement in an interview with YouTuber Eve Mungai on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Stevo, however, made it clear that he is not interested in rekindling his relationship with Grace, regardless of the outcome of the test. He emphasized that his focus is currently on his music and content creation.
“To cut the long story short, mtoto si wangu na sitaki mahusiano ya mapenzi sai. DNA ikitokea ni wangi, nitamlea lakini mama asepe. Mimi sitaki mapenzi kwa sasa ivi. Nafocus kwa content na mziki wangu,” Stevo said.
In February 2025, Grace publicly claimed that Stevo was the father of her child. However, the musician denied the allegations, stating that she had conspired with his brother to spread false information. Stevo accused his brother of being the actual father and demanded that Grace provide proof within 48 hours, failing which he would take legal action.
The controversy began after Stevo issued a warning, claiming that Grace and his brother had worked together to fabricate the paternity claims. He accused them of paying media personnel to spread the false story and insisted that he was ready to take a DNA test to clear his name.
Grace, on the other hand, dismissed claims that she had a child with another man and insisted that Stevo should take responsibility. She pleaded for his support, explaining that she had not received any help from him and that he started doubting the child’s paternity after hearing rumors from family members.
Infidelity, depression
The former couple had broken up months ago following allegations of infidelity. Grace denied the accusations, stating that Stevo had always been suspicious of her. She maintained that she remained faithful throughout their relationship and had even begged him to believe her when questions about the child’s paternity arose.
Their relationship had previously ended on a mutual note after Stevo discovered that Grace was expecting a child he believed was not his. The rapper revealed that he struggled with depression upon learning of the alleged betrayal, especially after Grace failed to confirm the child’s paternity even after giving birth.
Stevo recounted how he had received a call from someone who informed him that the child was not his. This revelation left him confused and hurt, as he had lived with Grace before the pregnancy. According to Stevo, the person who called him warned him not to be angry but insisted that he needed to know the truth.
