Questions linger after Rangers fan dies in tragic fashion ahead of Europa league clash with Jose Mourinho’s team

The supporter lost his life tragically following a road accident in Istanbul ahead of Rangers’ Europa League clash with Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.

Scottish giants Rangers have announced the death of one of their fans who had travelled to Turkey to cheer them on ahead of their Europa League clash against Fenerbahce.

Rangers will take on Jose Mourinho’s team in the Round of 16 of the clash in Istanbul on Thursday and their supporters have already made their way to the Turkish capital in anticipation for the match.

However, they received devastating news when it was revealed that one of their supporters, named as Christopher Potter, had passed away following a ‘road accident.’

“We are devastated to have learned of the passing of one of our supporters in a road traffic accident overnight in Istanbul,” Rangers announced on Thursday morning.

“The immediate thoughts of everyone at the club are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

“We are remaining in constant contact with both the Turkish and British authorities over this tragic incident.”

Fenerbahce also expressed their sympathy with the family of the deceased as well as the Rangers fraternity.

“We have learned with deep sorrow that a Rangers FC fan who came to Istanbul to support his team in the first match of the UEFA Europa League last 16 round, where Fenerbahce will host Scottish representative Rangers FC, passed away as a result of a traffic accident,” said the Turkish giants.
