How was Gilbert Kinyua's health status?
On Wednesday, March 5, National Health Committee Chairman Robert Pukose addressed issues raised by Nairobi Women's Representative Esther Passaris About the state of Kinyua's death.
Pukose said that the Health Committee visited KNH on Friday, February 21, to investigate the events of Kinyua's death.
He explained that he was transferred to KNH from St. Mary's of Lang'ata on December 11, 2024, and admitted to 7B wards, responsible for treating patients with neurological disorders.
Pukose said that when Kinyua was admitted, he had injuries to the pressure parts, which may have been caused by long -term movement.
“After an assessment by a KNH specialist, Mr. Kinyua was diagnosed with a neurological disorder known as Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) that causes muscle weakness,” Pukose said.
The chairman noted that Kinyua showed severe symptoms that affected all his organs, including his hands and feet, and made him fully dependent on regular care and needed to be fed tubes.

Pukose said that despite his condition, Kinyua was making great strides. On February 6, he was reported to be quiet, and the nightmarers took over without realizing any issues about his health.

Pukose said that KNH CEO William Sigilai reported that during the nurses ward rounds at 12am on Friday, February 7, the Kinyua face was discovered with a blood clot.
“After revealing her, the nurses found that she was not walking with a wound in her neck. The nurses reported the case and the relevant team was notified of immediate action. DCI It was notified of the matter within 30 minutes, ” he added.
He added that the deceased's wife and brother were informed and arrived at the scene within an hour. The Kinyua body was transferred to Kenyatta's mortuary on the same day.

Some demanded that the victim's co -worker be investigated for the mysterious death. According to information collected by investigators, Kinyua was admitted to a mental patient ward that only lasted two patients.
This prompted his ward counterpart on that night of disaster to be the main suspect in the murder. However, this theory reached the limit after DNA samples were considered to be negative.
On Tuesday, March 5, the Kinyua family called on investigative agencies to follow other guidelines to help them get justice.
