Baby sinks into the water and dies

The deceased, Shadrick Ngosa, allegedly drowned in the water while playing outside their house under the care of his 17 -year -old brother.

According to police reports, the tragic incident occurred after the older brother entered the house for a short time, leaving his younger brother without care.

According to Mwebantu, the mother of the children, 38 -year -old Evelyn Bwalya, had left them home when she went to buy food at a local store.

“At 2:00 am, the older brother stepped into the house, leaving a container full of water while his younger brother was playing close,” Said police officer Peacewell Mweemba.

Mweemba added that when he returned, he found the baby with his head and the upper part of his body in the basin, unconscious.

Neighbors struggled to rush the baby to the hospital, but was declared he died when he arrived.

A police investigation into the deceased's body did not show any injuries, and authorities regard the incident as a tragic accident.
