Elaine Thompson-Herah was planning to start a YouTube channel to chronicle her athletics journey but she has been forced to drop the initiative after some mean comments online.
Jamaican sprint legend Elaine Thompson-Herah has been forced to abandon plans for a YouTube channel that was meant to chronicle her sprinting journey.
Thompson-Hera had been convinced by fans to start creating content around her training, competitions and life after asking for suggestions online.
“Guys, should I start training vlogs, day in my life, GRWM etc etc,” she posted on her Instagram story to which majority of her fans voted in favour.
But while fans were waiting for her to actualize the plan, she has now opted against it, after some recent subtle comments she has received online.
Jamaican sprint legend Elaine Thompson-Herah was forced to go out hard on some fans who questioned whether she is committed to her husband.
What informed a change of mind from Thompson-Herah was when fans started poking their noses into her private life following a clip she posted, teaching women skincare routine.
Some fans wondered whether she was actually still married as she was doing it at night while she had no ring on her finger.
“Elaine move like she single now yah no ring and husband in site,” the fan posted to which the sprinter replied subtly: “Fly by day pitch by night you can clean your house already you sweep out under your bed. What away me upset you stomach so early I have some pepto misol for. Lady stop watch out me good good.”
It did not end there, another one also weighed in, asking the sprinter: “Still married?” to which Thompson-Herah brutally responded: “So that’s how you come about, how does that affect the cost of living now).”
However, while she had some classic clap backs, Thompson-Herah does not feel she can take more of it and has opted against going ahead with the YouTube channel plan for fear of dealing with more mean comments on social media.
Thompson-Herah, who is the first woman to win an Olympics double of 100m and 200m back-to-back, is preparing for the 2025 track season after experiencing a difficult 2024 campaign that saw her run just one race before missing the Olympics with an injury.
