Addressing believers at the Gospel Confirmation Center in Machakos on Sunday, March 2, Rigathi Gachagua emphasized that opposition would continue to hold the government accountable for issues such as kidnapping, arbitrary killings, poor health sector, and economic challenges.
“William Ruto, I heard you complain that we talked about you for four hours. Why waste your four hours listening to us? He questioned Gachagua.
What does he say to Ruto in Ukraine?
He made it clear that the goal of the opposition was to remove Ruto from power to implement an alternative administrative plan.
He urged the President to accept the investigation and political opposition, saying,
“We will continue to talk until we fulfill our mission. Be quiet and get this situation, we will deal with you.”
Gachagua's visit to Machakos showed a change of view of the Ukraine area. In the past he despised the political impact of Ukraine, he now acknowledged that the community had a significant role in determining the outcome of the 2027 general election.
He expressed hope about the strengthening of the opposition, saying that while the Ruto camp lost support, the opposition was building itself with new strength.
“Politics is a game of population. When Ruto makes a division, we are building a strong team. Kalonzo MusyokaI, and other leaders with the same attitude will win in the first round of the 2027 election, ” announced Gachagua.
In support of Gachagua's statement, Senators Agnes Kavindu (Machakos), Enoch Wambu (Kitui), and Daniel Maanzo (Makueni) emphasized that Ukraine is ready to form political strategies.

Ruto criticizes opposition for lacking direction
Speaking during a development visit to Taita Taveta County on Friday, February 28, President William Ruto blamed the opposition for lacking direction and focusing on talking about him instead of submitting effective policies.
He said that some people were holding meetings and forming parties where they spent a lot of time discussing him.
He questioned whether the party they formed was his or called by his name, wondering why their debates were about “William Ruto” for four hours.
Ruto wanted the opposition to introduce yourself and provide their own agendas, saying that their monitoring of each step shows that they have no real plans.
