Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that there are plans for the government to arrest him.

Speaking at the launch of the People's Liberation Party Martha Karua On Thursday, February 27, Gachagua claimed that the recent attempt to arrest him was intended to come from the previous weekend.
Why is the government reportedly planning to arrest Rigathi Gachagua?
According to Gachagua, the arrest plan was linked to his remarks in Meru, where he claimed there was a conspiracy to remove the Chief Justice Martha Koome From his post.
“Yesterday, I warned them to leave Martha Koome or they would face harm, and they wanted to arrest me for it,” Gachagua said.
Gachagua further stated that he was not intimidated by the threat of arrest saying he was ready to face anything.
“I told them I was home with tea ready. If they wanted to catch me, we would share tea and then go to the cells together. The offering is important. If we let fear rule us, where will Kenyans find hope?” He questioned.
The former deputy president stressed that his remarks were to defend justice and did not intend to incite any chaos. He urged opposition leaders to stay firm and fearless in the fight for the rights of the people.
“For those targeted leaders are not afraid, prisons were built for men, they plan to capture me every day, but cells today are built of brick and even indoor shower rooms, I grew up in a place with soil houses so cells are large upgrade,” he noted in humor.
His remarks are rampant amid continuous political tensions, with some officials encouraging the implementation of the law and the National Commission on National Cohesion and Cooperation (NCIC) to take action on Meru.
