Daniel Simiu Ebenyo has dropped a bombshell regarding his desire to participate at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan scheduled for September 13 to 25.

The world 10,000m silver medallist has constantly been requesting Team Kenya to include him in the team, but his recent revelations have left his fans in a state of confusion.

When asked about whether he would be looking to represent Kenya on the global stage later this season, Daniel Ebenyo preferred not to discuss the matter, giving a vague response.

A number of Kenyan players have found success overseas but there are some who experienced chilling experiences abroad. Pulse Sports highlights some of them.

He missed out on the Paris Olympics team after a fall during the Prefontaine Classic which saw him finish a distant seventh in a time of 27:24.33.

“I don’t know, I won’t talk about tomorrow because tomorrow will come and things will work out then. I’m determined to be there to do my best,” Daniel Ebenyo shared with reporters after the Sirikwa Classic Cross Country.

“Every day is always tough and I try to do my best. I prayed to God to help me win the race and I’m happy to have done it again.”

At the Sirikwa Classic, the Kenyan distance sensation extended his winning streak, winning the senior men’s race in style.

Daniel Ebenyo was just fresh-from claiming top honours in the senior race at the National Cross-Country Championships at the Eldoret Sports Club.

His focus now shifts to the Seoul Marathon in South Korea on, where he intends to extend the winning streak and hopefully finish in the podium bracket in his second full marathon.

After his disappointment at the Kenyan Olympic trials, Daniel Ebenyo decided to go for a new career milestone, making his full marathon debut at the Chicago Marathon where he finished an impressive fifth.

He has consistently shown his great form when it comes to the long-distance races and road races and earlier this year, Daniel Ebenyo confirmed that he has yet to ditch the track forever.

As athletes continue gearing up for the National trials towards the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan, Daniel Ebenyo continues giving mixed signals concerning his interest in donning the Kenyan jersey. At this point, it is only time that will tell.
