Antonov's plane crashed on Tuesday, February 25, while flying from ward Seidna, a military airport in northern Omdurman.
According to Al Jazeera's network, the number of deaths from the plane crash that was previously reported to 19, has increased to 46.
The plane, reportedly crashed into a civilian house, resulted in the deaths of its staff and several soldiers aboard the plane.
Witnesses at the scene reported that some people on the ground were also killed, while others were seriously injured when the fallen birds hit human settlements.
Major-General Bahr Ahmed, Commander-in-Chief in Khartoum, was reportedly among those who did not survive the crash.
A military spokesman said the injured are receiving treatment, and fire from a plane crash has been banned.
“We have recorded several deaths and injuries among them were soldiers and local residents. The injured have been treated while the fire is controlled by fire,” The military speaker statement read in part.
According to Sudan Tribune newspaper, the plane crash was the second of its kind to occur within 48 hours.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militant group claimed that its aerial protection had dropped a alleged Darfur army in Nyala, although the Sudanese army had not yet responded to the allegations.

The recent accident happened just weeks after a separate accident in northern South Sudan, resulting in the deaths of approximately 20 people.

Unity Gatwech State Information Minister Bipal said the plane had about 21 passengers when the tragedy occurred, indicating that only one person survived the crash.
The aircraft, which included oil workers from Greater Pioneer Operating Company, crashed into Unity oil field, a large oil reservoir in northern South Sudan, while heading to the capital, Juba.
Bipal said the plane crashed 500 meters from the airport. He previously reported 18 deaths, but the number of deaths later increased to 20 after two more rescuers died from their injuries.
A video clip emerged showing the consequences of the accident, leaving many in surprise. Local residents were seen gathered at the scene with officials taking the bodies from the remains.
The video showed the plane being completely destroyed, with just a few parts left. The rescue forces who died the bodies one after the other, and closed them with blue sheets before putting them in a car.
