Kenya Power accuses Nairobi County of pulling waste out of Stima Plaza: “Dirty Character”

Nairobi: The dispute between the company of Kenya Power And the Nairobi County government about the debt of KSh 2.9 million is now headed to court.

The controversy turned out to be worse recently after the county dumped rubbish and sewage at Kenya Power Stima Plaza headquarters in Nairobi.

Kenya Power has now taken legal action against the administration headed by Johnson Sakaja.

In a petition submitted under an emergency certificate, Kenya Power has called the move to be cruel and human.

The company, in the court documents seen by TUKO.co.ke said that the waste had affected the health of their employees. It also accused the county of illegally grabbing their 10 vehicles.

“… the actions of the respondents, which are cruel and humanitarian, have revealed more than 4,000 staff members of the complainants and innocent tenants placed in the complainant's buildings and also the general public for serious health problems,” Kenya Power said in a request.

The company has also opposed the decision by the Nairobi County government to cut water in its Stima Plaza offices.

It says that the decisions have left hundreds of its employees and tenants including medical clinics, financial institutions, law companies, insurance agencies to count losses and frustration.

However, the Nairobi County government through attorney Duncan Okatch argued that the trucks were removed on Tuesday night, February 25, and that a meeting chaired by the Public Service Chief Felix Kosgei would help resolve the matter.

“The court will give instructions at three o'clock at night,” Judge Anne Omollo said.

Kenya Power Company wants among other things to force the county to collect and remove garbage at the gate of their Stima Plaza office and the removal of trucks and vehicles that prevent them from entering and exiting the buildings.

The company also wants the declaration to be issued that Nairobi County's actions and actions violated the constitution and violated their basic rights.

In addition, it calls on the courts to issue a permanent restraint to prevent the county from throwing poison, dangerous and untreated rubbish at the gate of any of their palace.

It also requires an order issued to force a unit to re -integrate water supply and to open a sewage system for Kenya Power buildings.

The court is now expected to issue instructions on the trash thrown at the Stima Plaza Stadium after receiving a brief statement about the results of the meeting between Sakaja, Kenyan Power officials and Kawi Minister Opiyo Wandayi.
